Rachel Zoe has long been a force in fashion, but for her, being a mom to sons Skyler and Kaius is just as impactful. As she once told the Los Angeles Times in 2014, raising kids has its similarities to styling. “Being a stylist is a lot like being a parent. You need to be patient. You need to step back and understand what’s being communicated — whether you’re dealing with a celebrity, a private client, or a child.”
Zoe shares her two boys with entrepreneur Rodger Berman, her estranged husband. The longtime couple announced their separation in September 2024 after 26 years of marriage, sharing that they remain committed to co-parenting. “Our number one priority has been and will always be our children,” they wrote in a joint statement on Instagram. “We are committed to co-parent our boys and continue to work together within the many businesses we share.”
Back in 2021, Zoe reflected on how the pandemic brought her family closer. With homeschooling and extra time at home, she noticed a shift in both Skyler and Kaius. “They both just really found themselves,” she said. “That’s been the best part of this insane, awful year—the quality time. Normally they’re in school all day, we’re at work all day, and then we all catch up at night. I, personally, will deeply miss when they go back to school.
Skyler Morrison Berman, 14
Born on March 22, 2011, Skyler is Rachel and Rodger’s firstborn. In an interview with E! Online shortly after his birth, Zoe shared the sentimental story behind his name. “The ‘S’ is for my great aunt and the ‘M’ in his middle name is for my grandfather and my husband’s mother,” she said.
Skyler has been in the fashion scene from the start — making his red carpet debut as a baby and attending everything from benefit events to baby showers. Whether by his mom’s side at a polo match or in a stylish snap on social media, he’s been growing up in the spotlight with ease.
Kaius Jagger Berman, 11
Kaius, affectionately nicknamed “Kai,” arrived on December 22, 2013. Just weeks old, he was already being introduced to fashion life — Zoe once posted a photo of herself cradling him while tuning into a fashion show from home.
By the time he was mobile, he was skipping right past crawling. “He almost skipped the walking part, so he’s walking, running,” Zoe said at the time. “He is talking, little words here and there and repeating everything.” She also shared how much joy it brought her to see her sons bonding. “Kai and Skyler are starting to play together, which is amazing… Skyler’s been a really incredible big brother.”
As her kids grow, Zoe’s learned some valuable parenting lessons too — especially about letting go and enjoying the chaos of raising boys.
