by Kristine Bowman

Dr. Dre, also known as Andre Young, isn’t just a titan in the music world—he’s also a father to nine children from various relationships over the years. While some of his offspring are comfortable in the public eye, others prefer privacy. Let’s delve into the lives of his four sons and five daughters, along with their respective mothers.

Curtis Young

Curtis, Dre’s eldest child, was born to him and Cassandra Joy Greene when Dre was just 16 years old. Raised by Cassandra, Curtis later followed his father’s path into the rap scene, adopting the stage name Hood Surgeon. Despite their initial separation, Dre and Curtis have since connected, and Curtis is now carving his own path in the entertainment industry, even preparing for his debut movie role alongside his wife Vanessa.

LaTanya Young

Born to Dre and Lisa Johnson in 1983, LaTanya is Dre’s eldest daughter. While she hasn’t sought the limelight, her recent public statements reveal a strained relationship with her father, citing financial struggles and a lack of contact for many years, even with her own children.

Tyra Young

Reportedly Dre’s second eldest daughter, Tyra maintains a low profile, devoid of any public presence or social media activity, leaving much about her life shrouded in mystery.

LaToya Young

Another daughter of Dre and Lisa, LaToya’s existence surfaced in a 2010 interview where her mother mentioned her as one of two “secret daughters.” Despite this revelation, details about her remain sparse, awaiting perhaps a time when the full story will emerge.

Ashley Young

Like LaToya, Ashley’s identity was acknowledged in Lisa’s interview, yet little else is known about her, and Dre has not confirmed her as his daughter.

Andre Young Jr

Tragically, Dre’s second son passed away in 2008 at the age of 20 due to a heroin and morphine overdose. Andre’s untimely death left a void in Dre’s life, prompting a plea for privacy from the grieving family.

Marcel Young

Dre’s seventh child, Marcel, was born to him and singer Michel’le in 1991. Preferring a life away from the spotlight, Marcel keeps his affairs private, much like his mother, who occasionally shares glimpses of him on her Instagram.

Truice Young

Born to Dre and Nicole Young, Truice, Dre’s youngest son, grew up surrounded by music. Following in his father’s footsteps, Truice ventured into music production, showcasing his talents on social media and enjoying a vibrant family life.

Truly Young

The youngest of Dre and Nicole’s children, Truly, born in 2001, embraces the spotlight with her active presence on social media. With a burgeoning following, she showcases her modeling endeavors while pursuing studies at the University of Southern California. From personal tragedies to private lives and burgeoning careers, the offspring of Dr. Dre carry on their journeys, each with their own unique story to tell.

Dr. Dre is officially riding solo! In a candid moment captured on Thursday, the renowned music mogul, Andre “Dr. Dre” Young, 56, stood proudly beside a balloon display spelling out “DIVORCED AF.” Sharing the moment with his friend and music industry peer Breyon Prescott, the atmosphere was celebratory as Prescott hinted that Dre’s legal separation from Nicole Young, 51, had reached its conclusion. “Hey Well My Brother @drdre Just Told Me It’s Final!!!” Prescott announced in the post, adding, “Congrats 🍾 Still Dre.” TMZ reports that while terms have been agreed upon, official paperwork is pending signature. As of now, a representative for Dr. Dre has not responded to requests for comment from magazine.

This development marks the end of a tumultuous chapter that began in June 2020 when Nicole filed for legal separation. Amidst the legal proceedings, allegations surfaced, with Nicole claiming in January that Dre once brandished a firearm against her, while in July, he was mandated to pay her $3.5 million annually in spousal support. In March, Dre’s attorney, Laura Wasser, submitted a motion of bifurcation, asserting that Nicole’s accusations of domestic violence evidenced an irreparable breakdown of their union, and Dre no longer wished to remain married to her. The couple, who had been together for 24 years, shares two children: son Truice, 24, and daughter Truly, 20.
