Owen Wilson is widely known as one of Hollywood’s most famous bachelors, but he’s also a father of three. The actor has two sons, Ford and Finn, and a daughter named Lyla. He welcomed his first child, Ford, in January 2011 with his then-girlfriend Jade Duell. Three years later, in January 2014, Wilson had his second son, Finn, with his personal trainer, Caroline Lindqvist. In October 2018, a source confirmed to that Wilson also fathered a daughter, Lyla, with Varunie Vongsvirates. While Wilson isn’t in a relationship with any of his children’s mothers, he shared with Esquire in 2021 that he lives close to his two sons, and everyone gets along. “Sometimes it feels like I’m already seeing how they’re going to be as teenagers,” Wilson told Ellen DeGeneres about his boys, Ford and Finn. “Like they’re going to gang up on me.”

While preparing for his role as a Bob Ross-like artist in the 2023 movie Paint, Wilson mentioned that he and his two sons took an art class together. “I took one of those Bob Ross painting classes with my boys,” he said. “We all painted a mountainscape, and I think they turned out pretty good.

Robert Ford Wilson, 13

Wilson and his then-girlfriend Duell announced they were expecting their first child in January 2011. Just days later, on January 14, 2011, the couple welcomed their son, Robert Ford Wilson, in Hawaii. They chose to call him by his middle name, Ford, because it felt “original,” Wilson shared with E! in 2013. “It’s surreal that this tiny human being is here now, and I’m thinking about all the adventures he’s going to have,” Wilson told Parents magazine shortly after Ford’s birth.

As a first-time father, Wilson quickly fell in love with his son. When Ford was just six weeks old, Wilson joked on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that Ford was already a “little scene stealer,” even though he couldn’t speak yet. “He’s not the best conversationalist at this point, but he doesn’t have to be because he’s so cute,” Wilson said. Despite having no previous experience with babies, the actor fully embraced fatherhood, including diaper duty from the start.

Finn Lindqvist Wilson, 10

In October 2013, it was revealed that Wilson was expecting his second son with his former personal trainer, Caroline Lindqvist. Though the two were not in a relationship, they were both excited about the pregnancy. “Owen is involved,” a source told. “He attends doctor’s appointments and makes sure Caroline is doing well.” Finn Lindqvist Wilson was born on January 30, 2014, in Los Angeles.

Wilson shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Ford, who was three years old at the time, took to being a big brother immediately. “Ford is very protective of him, and he always calls him ‘his baby brother’,” Wilson explained. “I think he likes that he’s about 30 pounds, and Finn is smaller.”

As the boys grew older, Wilson noted that Finn looked up to his older brother, Ford, so much that his nickname became “Me Too,” because he wanted to do everything Ford did.

Lyla Aranya Wilson, 6

Wilson welcomed his third child, a daughter named Lyla Aranya Wilson, on October 9, 2018, with Varunie Vongsvirates. Lyla weighed 6 lbs., 13 oz., and measured 21 inches long at birth. Vongsvirates gave her daughter the Thai middle name “Aranya” to honor her heritage. She shared Lyla’s birth on Instagram, writing, “My sweet little princess 💝 Lyla Aranya Wilson, born on 10-09-18.”

Over the years, Vongsvirates has continued to share photos of Lyla on social media, often referring to her as her “wild child.”
