“All of a sudden, we just felt this… I didn’t know what it was,” passenger April O’Brien told the outlet. “I’m like, ‘What’s that?’ and then I looked out the window—it was right outside my window. The American Airlines went right into our wing.”

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation into this collision, as well as another incident that occurred at the same airport just a few hours later.

The second collision happened at 6:15 p.m. when a JetBlue plane being towed struck the back of a Cape Air plane that was waiting to park at a gate, according to the Massachusetts Port Authority.

The Massachusetts Port Authority described both incidents as minor, noting they occurred at low speeds.

“It was an absolute mess, there were lights everywhere,” Caroline Agid, a passenger scheduled to board the JetBlue flight, told WCVB.

The outlet also reported that the JetBlue flight, which was headed to Orlando, faced hours of delay due to the collision.

The cruise line also confirmed that they had been working “throughout the day with local authorities” in an effort to locate the missing passenger.

“CCTV footage has been extensively reviewed, and the ship was searched thoroughly several times without success,” Princess Cruises stated.

“After ruling out other possibilities, this is being treated as a man overboard incident,” the company concluded.

Princess Cruises confirmed that the man was traveling alone. His identity has not been released, and the company extended its “heartfelt condolences to the family and friends.”

According to multiple outlets, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has now taken over the investigation.
