Mama June Shannon is working to rebuild her bond with her children. The Mama June: Road to Redemption star first rose to prominence alongside her youngest daughter, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, on TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras in 2009. She is the mother of four daughters: Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, and Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell. Tragically, Anna passed away on Dec. 9, 2023, following a battle with adrenal carcinoma, which she was diagnosed with in January of the same year. June and Alana initially captured viewers’ attention with their lively dynamic on the pageant series, which led to their own spin-off show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. The series aired from 2012 to 2014 but was ultimately canceled after reports surfaced about June’s controversial relationship with a convicted sex offender.

Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell

Nicknamed “Chickadee,” Anna was the eldest of Mama June Shannon’s children. Born on Aug. 28, 1994, when June was just 15, Anna’s father is June’s ex-boyfriend David Dunn, who did not appear on the family’s reality TV shows. Anna’s relationship with her mother was strained for years, stemming from a traumatic event in 2003. At just 8 years old, Anna survived assault by her mother’s then-boyfriend, registered sex offender Mark McDaniel. Following the incident, Anna moved out of June’s home to live with her grandmother. In a 2014 interview with PEOPLE, Anna opened up about her experience, sharing, “He would try and touch me and all that stuff.” She also recalled her mother’s initial reaction when she confided in her, saying, “A week or so after it happened, I talked to Mama, and she was upset, crying and saying, ‘I don’t believe you, I don’t believe you, why would you do this to me?’” Anna’s resilience and honesty in the face of adversity have remained a significant part of her story, resonating with fans who admired her courage.

Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, 28

Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, Mama June’s second-oldest daughter, was born on Oct. 12, 1996, to June and her ex Michael Anthony Ford. Ford, a convicted sex offender, served time in prison after being caught on To Catch a Predator in 2005 for the sexual exploitation of minors. Nicknamed “Chubbs” on their reality shows, Jessica has appeared alongside her family in each of their series, including an appearance on Steve Harvey’s Family Feud. Beyond her time in the spotlight, Jessica has focused on her education and personal growth. She graduated from Wilkinson County High School in 2015 and went on to earn her college degree in May 2018. Celebrating her achievement, she shared a proud moment on Instagram, writing, “Y’all I made it👩‍🎓 It was hard but I pulled thru💕💕,” alongside a photo of herself in her cap and gown. Jessica’s dedication to forging her own path has endeared her to fans as a hardworking and determined individual.

Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird, 24

June’s third-oldest daughter, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, was born on Jan. 7, 2000. For much of her childhood, Lauryn believed her biological father was Mark McDaniel, who was imprisoned in 2004 for child molestation. However, when Lauryn was 14, June revealed in an interview with ET that McDaniel was not her father. Instead, Lauryn’s biological father is June’s ex, Michael Anthony Ford. Jessica and Pumpkin have the same dad, but Jessica’s dad has had nothing to do with her over the years,” June explained. “So, why the hell would I open up that can of worms until today? I lied to my family and told them it was somebody else.” Despite the family’s complicated history, Lauryn has been a consistent presence in their reality TV ventures, appearing in Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and continuing her journey with her family on Mama June: Road to Redemption. Her resilience and loyalty have made her a key figure in the Shannon family story.

Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Shannon, 19

Shannon’s youngest daughter, Alana, shot to fame as “Honey Boo Boo” on Toddlers & Tiaras with her memorable catchphrases and vibrant personality. Born on Aug. 28, 2005, to June and her ex, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, Alana quickly became the breakout star of her family. She went on to star in her own TLC spinoff, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and has remained a familiar face on reality TV, appearing in Dancing with the Stars: Juniors, The Masked Singer, and Mama June: Road to Redemption. In an interview with PEOPLE about her time on DWTS Juniors, Alana shared, “I wanted to do it because when they asked me, I thought this is something that I’ve never done and it’d be super fun and a great experience. So I figured, let’s do it!” She also noted that her mom was “so supportive” throughout the experience. Alana continues to charm audiences with her bold personality and willingness to take on new challenges.
