Green expressed that he’s “heartbroken” to learn about Fox’s breakup, especially since she’s “so excited” about her pregnancy.
Brian Austin Green will always stand up for Megan Fox.
News broke on December 10 that Fox, 38, and Machine Gun Kelly had called it quits, just weeks after announcing they were expecting their first child together. Fox’s ex-husband, Green, was caught off guard by the news.
In a video shared by TMZ, Green, 51, who was married to Fox from 2010 to 2020, admitted he had “no idea” about the split before sharing his thoughts on the breakup.
“How old is he? He’s in his 30s, right?” Green asked the reporter, who claimed that the singer had been unfaithful to his former fiancée. “In your 30s, like, I don’t know, grow up, you know? She’s pregnant.”
“I just want the best for her, I want the best for the baby, I want the best for our kids,” Green added.
Calling the split a “shame,” Green expressed that he’s “heartbroken” to hear about it, especially since Fox has “been so excited” about her pregnancy.
He also shared that their three kids — Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, 8 — are “so excited” to welcome a new sibling as well.
Green’s response to the breakup news comes after a source told PEOPLE that Fox is in a “good place” with her ex and his wife, Sharna Burgess, and is “so happy about being pregnant.”
“She gets along really well with Sharna. Megan trusts her around the boys,” the source, referring to Burgess, 39, said.
“Brian’s a great dad, too. Megan feels fortunate that her boys are loved and always taken care of.”
Fox told PEOPLE earlier this month that her sons are “super excited for another addition to the family and have promised to help out and pitch in.”
She also shared how she’s navigating her fourth pregnancy, explaining that she’s “already learned all the tricks to make my body feel well physically and mentally.”
“I am sleeping and exercising and sticking to my healthy diet and lifestyle, as always,” she added.
Fox was reportedly “blind-sided” by the split from the singer, with whom she had been dating since 2020 and got engaged to in 2022.
A source told PEOPLE that she has “been distraught” but is “trying to focus on” her pregnancy, which is currently “her priority.”
