Denise Richards has played many roles throughout her career, but her favorite is being a mom to her three daughters: Sami, Lola, and Eloise. “I’m most proud of raising my kids, especially in a time that is very different from how I was raised,” Richards shared with PEOPLE in 2019. “It’s extremely hard to keep children grounded. This is not an easy time to grow up.”
Richards and her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen, welcomed their daughter Sami in 2004, followed by Lola a year later. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum also adopted daughter Eloise in 2011. Richards adopted her youngest daughter, Eloise, in 2011. Reflecting on the decision, she shared, “I felt like I wasn’t done having children, and I’ve always wanted a large family.” Her husband, Phypers, has been in the process of adopting Eloise, who was diagnosed with a chromosomal disorder in 2016 that has led to developmental delays.
Richards has been open about navigating Eloise’s unique needs, saying she sought help after noticing developmental delays. “She didn’t start walking until she was 2, and that was with physical therapy,” she explained.
