Dierks Bentley’s three children—Evalyn Day, Jordan Catherine, and Knox—have each played a role in inspiring his music career. The country star eloped with his childhood sweetheart, Cassidy Bentley, in 2005, and their family grew with the arrivals of daughters Evalyn and Jordan in 2008 and 2010, followed by son Knox in 2013. One kid changes your whole life. Two is crazy. [With] three you already know what to do, so you don’t stress the little things so much,” Dierks shared with PEOPLE, reflecting on fatherhood. Though Dierks and his kids share a close bond, the “Beers on Me” singer made it clear to PEOPLE that he and Cassidy were “absolutely not” planning for more children. “I’m already going to be about 58 before Cass and I get any alone time!” he joked. After years in Nashville, the family opted for a quieter life in Colorado.

Evalyn Day Bentley, 16 years old

The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Evalyn “Evie” Day, in October 2008. A natural performer with a strong singing voice, Evalyn is carving her own path in the spotlight. Her vocals are featured on several of her father’s hits, including “Different for Girls” and “Thinking of You.” Evie has a great natural voice, and she loves theater,” Dierks shared during a 2021 appearance on Good Morning America. The duo has taken the stage together multiple times, making Evalyn a beloved surprise guest for Dierks’ fans and showcasing her undeniable talent.

Jordan Catherine Bentley, 14 years old

Jordan “JJ” Catherine was born on December 25, 2010, a special Christmas gift to the Bentley family. She was named in honor of Dierks’ best friend, who passed away in 2009 from cystic fibrosis and complications following a lung transplant. “I know he is looking down and loving watching you take on life with the zest that you do,” Dierks wrote in a heartfelt birthday tribute to Jordan. In the same post, Dierks praised his daughter’s “fierce, loving, creative, kind spirit,” qualities that shine through in her blossoming theater and dance pursuits. He’s also quick to acknowledge Jordan’s maturity, often remarking that she’s wise beyond her years.

Knox Bentley, 11 years old

Knox Bentley was born on October 9, 2013, in Nashville. My wife and I liked the name [Knox]. It’s simple—my name’s one syllable. It just popped up, and we stuck with it,” Dierks shared with PEOPLE at the time. Unlike his sisters, Knox prefers the rink to the stage. A passionate athlete, he plays on a travel hockey team and even co-hosted the 2023 NHL Awards alongside his dad. “Hockey plays a big part of my daily life,” Dierks said in a press release. “I’ve been to rinks all over the country with my travel hockey son. I coach his spring league games and spend hours in the local hockey store, telling him, ‘No, you do not need a new stick!’”

The couple first met in Arizona during eighth grade but spent years weaving in and out of each other’s lives before finally tying the knot in 2005. We met in eighth grade, back in Arizona. It’s a pretty crazy story of just going back and forth with the right time or the wrong time, or right place, wrong time, all that stuff,” Dierks explained to The Boot. The turning point came when Dierks was opening for George Strait in Las Vegas. “She walked on the bus, and I kind of knew that that was the moment,” he shared.
