The retired NFL player Drew Brees and his wife, Brittany Brees, met in the late ’90s while they were both students at Purdue University. After marrying in 2003, they welcomed their first child, Baylen, in 2009. They later expanded their family with sons Bowen and Callen and daughter Rylen, making them a family of six. Drew retired in 2021 after 20 seasons in the NFL, announcing the news with the help of his children. In a heartfelt Instagram video, all four Brees kids sat on a couch and took turns saying, “After years on the Saints and 20 years in the NFL, our dad is finally going to retire,” adding, “so he can spend more time with us.”

After retiring, Drew worked as an on-air NFL analyst for NBC Sports for one season but decided not to return for the 2022-2023 season to spend more time with his family. He explained to The Spun, “The reason I didn’t do it this year, from a broadcasting perspective, is my family. You have to be gone for the weekends, and that’s what I basically did as a player. These are such valuable moments for my kids. I want to be as active and involved in their weekend activities. That doesn’t quite mesh right now with a broadcasting career.

Baylen Robert Brees, 15

Baylen Robert Brees, Drew and Brittany’s first child, was born on January 15, 2009. He grew up while his father played for the New Orleans Saints. In 2019, Baylen participated in a video for the Saints, featuring players’ children repeating pregame speeches usually given by Drew and Demario Davis. Drew recalled his son’s excitement the night before the shoot, saying, “He’s getting all pumped up and he’s like, ‘Dad, can I wear your Super Bowl ring?’ I was like, ‘That’s a big responsibility, but absolutely. Do you want to take on that responsibility?’ He said, ‘Yes, I got it Dad, don’t worry.'”

In a 2020 postgame interview, Drew spoke about Baylen’s artistic talents, mentioning his friendship with Marcus Rivero, who designs Drew’s custom cleats for the NFL’s “My Cause, My Cleats” program. Baylen even started creating custom cleats for other Saints players, with Drew noting, “We went home with like six boxes of cleats on Monday, so that’s probably what he’s in the garage doing as we speak.

Bowen Christopher Brees, 13

Drew and Brittany welcomed their second son, Bowen Christopher Brees, on October 19, 2010. Before his birth, Drew engaged his Twitter followers in choosing a unique “B” name, receiving over 6,000 responses. He later announced Bowen’s birth on Twitter, expressing his pride and joy. Bowen, like his older brother, follows in his father’s footsteps by playing football. In 2021, Drew shared an Instagram post celebrating Bowen and Baylen’s football games, highlighting the fast-paced action and the no-huddle offense.

Drew predicted Bowen’s potential as a football player when he was just 2 years old, telling CBS News in 2012, “He might be our little football player.

Callen Christian Brees, 11

Callen Christian Brees, Drew and Brittany’s third child, was born on August 15, 2012. Drew proudly announced Callen’s birth on Twitter, celebrating the healthy arrival of their son. Callen shares his father’s athleticism, famously mimicking Drew’s 2018 spin move touchdown in a flag football game. The Saints shared a side-by-side video of Drew and Callen’s identical moves, captioned “Like father, like son.” Besides football, Callen enjoys various sports, with Drew posting a video of Callen’s impressive ax-throwing skills in October 2022.

Rylen Judith Brees, 9

Drew and Brittany’s first daughter and fourth child, Rylen Judith Brees, was born on August 25, 2014. Drew shared the joyous news on Twitter with a photo of him holding the newborn, writing, “Spent the early morning with our new baby girl! Brit and she are happy, healthy, and doing great! Gods greatest gift!” Drew cherished being the first to greet his daughter, saying, “It just melted my heart to watch her born. I actually got to take the snap, so to speak, catch her on the way out.”

Drew ensures he spends quality time with Rylen, enjoying activities like a Daddy/Daughter Scavenger Hunt and pizza nights, capturing these precious moments on Instagram. “Such a great afternoon with Rylen at the Daddy/Daughter Scavenger Hunt around town,” he wrote in 2021, later sharing a photo from a pizza date night, emphasizing, “I will never forget these moments.

Drew Brees once confessed to being wildly in love with his wife Brittany every single day, even after 20 years of marriage.

Drew Brees once confessed to being wildly in love with his wife Brittany every day, even after 20 years of marriage. Drew began seeing Brittany (née Dudchenko) in the late ’90s while they were both attending Purdue University in Indiana. After tying the knot in 2003, they went on to have four children: three sons, Baylen, 13, Bowen, 11, Callen, 9, and a daughter, Rylen, 7. “I feel like my wife and I know each other so well and we balance each other out so well,” the former quarterback shared. “I can say this: I fall in love with my wife more every day and I continue to pursue her every day. I don’t want to get complacent in a relationship or a marriage where it’s like every day’s Groundhog Day—just getting the kids ready for school and all that.
