Jensen Ackles’ Life as a Family Man: All About His Wife Danneel and Their Kids Justice, Zeppelin, and Arrow
Jensen Ackles may be the “Sexiest TV Star,” as chosen by readers, but his favorite role is being a devoted husband and dad. Jensen and his wife, Danneel Harris Ackles, first met in 2006 while co-starring in the romantic comedy Ten Inch Hero. They tied the knot in 2010 and have since built a beautiful family together.
The Supernatural star and Danneel welcomed their first child, Justice Jay, in 2013, and expanded their family three years later with the arrival of twins Zeppelin Bram and Arrow Rhodes. The couple now resides in Austin, Texas, near Jensen’s hometown of Dallas, in a kid-friendly home they instantly fell in love with. “As we drove by, Danneel and I both looked at our real estate agent and were like, ‘See, that is the kind of house we’re looking for,'” Jensen told Architectural Digest. They were so smitten with the property that they convinced the previous owners to sell them the unlisted house.
Despite their Austin roots, the Ackles family loves adventures on the road. In March 2022, they celebrated Danneel’s birthday with a trip to Disneyland, posing for photos in front of the castle and enjoying roller coasters with their three kids.
Justice Jay Ackles, 11
Justice Jay, affectionately called “JJ,” was born on May 30, 2013. Danneel shared the news on Twitter, saying, “We are happy to announce the birth of our precious baby girl. She was born happy and healthy.”
JJ made her first red carpet appearance in 2022 alongside her dad at the Zombies 3 premiere. Jensen proudly shared the moment on Instagram, writing, “Proud papa moment. Took JJ to her first ‘Hollywood Premier.’ She walked the carpet like a pro (a pro that held on tight to her dad).”
Interestingly, JJ also played a role in getting Jensen on Instagram. In 2015, he joined the platform to combat imposters, joking, “In an effort 2 squash some posers, my daughter is helping me start an Instagram.” His first post? A sweet photo of him and JJ captioned, “Hello Instagram.
Zeppelin Bram and Arrow Rhodes Ackles, 8
On December 2, 2016, Jensen and Danneel became parents to twins—son Zeppelin Bram and daughter Arrow Rhodes. This time, Jensen took to Instagram to share the news, posting a playful photo of Dr. Seuss’ Thing 1 and Thing 2 with the caption, “Danneel, JJ and I are excited to announce the birth of our twins, Zeppelin Bram and Arrow Rhodes. They were born early yesterday morning. Everyone is doing great! #twinning.”
While Zeppelin’s name might seem like a nod to Led Zeppelin, the inspiration was more personal. During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan, Jensen explained that he and Danneel wanted unique names for their children, reflecting their own. It took two days of brainstorming with family to settle on “Zeppelin.”
