Jessica Biel is opening up about her parenting strategies! Ahead of the release of her new book, A Kids Book About Periods, which hits the shelves this spring, the “Candy” actress, aged 42, engaged with fans on social media this Thursday. During a Q&A session on her Instagram Story, an anonymous user posed the question, “How do you talk to your sons about periods?” Biel, who shares sons Silas, 8, and Phineas, 3, with husband Justin Timberlake, addressed the question in a selfie video.
She shared that she is “still finding my way through” this topic. “Well, I don’t have all the answers, but my approach is to simply tell them the truth about what’s happening with me, and how I’m feeling,” said the “7th Heaven” alum. She aims to provide them with “truthful, real, biological, anatomically correct information” in a manner that is not too overwhelming for them.
Biel mentioned that she’s “taking it slow” with her boys but is committed to “telling them the truth.” She is not concealing anything from them, using real terms, and providing clear definitions of concepts related to reproductive health, which can be intimidating but also manageable to discuss. “I’m just telling it like it is,” concluded the Primetime Emmy Award nominee.
