Lauren London’s children, Kameron Carter and Kross Ermias Asghedom, have been a constant source of motivation throughout her journey. She welcomed her first son, Kameron, with rapper Lil Wayne in 2009. Then, in 2016, her second son, Kross, was born during her relationship with Nipsey Hussle. Tragically, in March 2019, when Kross was just 2½ years old, his father was shot and killed outside his Los Angeles clothing store. The Victory Lap rapper, whose real name was Ermias Asghedom, was only 33. After his passing, London took time to grieve but also chose to return to her career when she felt ready, with the support of her sons. “We can’t stop, you know?” she shared with Entertainment Tonight in 2021. “We all have a purpose, and it’s important for my sons to see me moving forward through grief, not just curling up in a ball—because I did that for a long time.

Kameron Carter, 14

London and Lil Wayne welcomed Kameron Carter on September 9, 2009. When he was 1½, London opened up about her love for her son during a red carpet interview at an Essence magazine event. “I look at him sometimes and think, ‘What did I do to deserve you?'” she told Rolling Out. “He’s amazing. He’s everything. Out of everything in the world, that is my purpose. This [my career] is great, but that little boy right there—that’s why I was born.” Kameron has begun to attend public events of his own. In July 2022, he accompanied his father to the ESPY Awards, walking the red carpet together. The duo has also been spotted at basketball games. During a charming moment on the All the Smoke podcast, Lil Wayne paused the episode to take a call from Kameron, who was saying goodnight. “Sorry, one second. That’s Killa, that’s Kam, he’s going to sleep,” Wayne explained to the host. He then answered, telling his son, “Goodnight, boy, I love you.

Kross Ermias Asghedom, 8

London and Nipsey Hussle welcomed their son, Kross Ermias Asghedom, on August 31, 2016. Shortly after his birth, London shared a touching photo on Instagram of baby Kross holding her hand, captioning it, “And then came You. Last week, I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy, happy baby boy. Blessed.” Hussle posted the same picture with the simple caption, “KROSS 8.31.16.” Since Hussle’s death, London has continued to honor him. On Father’s Day in June 2019, she shared a photo of herself, Hussle, and Kross, writing, “One of the reasons I fell in love with you… your fatherhood. Today we celebrate you. Love you, Ermias.” (Hussle also has a daughter, Emani Asghedom, from a previous relationship.)

Lauren London on Grief and Growth Since Losing Nipsey Hussle: 'I Wish He Was Here'

Lauren London has garnered praise for her performance in Netflix’s You, but there is one voice she longs to hear—her late partner Nipsey Hussle. On a recent episode of the Every Day podcast, London, now 38, spoke candidly about her journey and her latest role, admitting she’s “still a work in progress” nearly four years after Hussle’s death. While she strives to find peace and takes pride in her parenting and career accomplishments, like “the success of having a job, meeting, and feeling their love,” she continues to feel the absence of one person. “There’s one person I wish was here to watch the movie with me,” she shared. However, London was quick to clarify that healing is a complex process. “I don’t want to give the misconception that I’m at peace and walking around on a cloud,” she explained. “I have to wake up every day with intention because there are days when I don’t want to, and I get angry about it. Healing is up and down, side to side, all over the place. And with each new level, there’s something else to confront.
