Billionaire Mukesh Ambani, who leads one of the largest companies in the world, maintains a strong focus on his children: Akash, Isha, and Anant. The Reliance Industries chairman began his journey in the family business after his father pulled him out of Stanford University, where he was pursuing a master’s in business. Mukesh’s leadership and vision led him to amass a significant fortune, holding the title of India’s richest person for over a decade, according to Forbes. In 1985, Mukesh married Nita Ambani, and they welcomed their first children, twins Akash and Isha, on October 23, 1991. Their youngest son, Anant, was born on April 10, 1995.

In March 2024, Anant’s pre-wedding celebrations attracted a star-studded guest list, including Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and their partners, along with a performance by Rihanna. Although his wedding to fiancée Radhika Merchant was set for July 2024, the festivities included a three-day celebration at the luxurious Ambani Estate in Gujarat, India. Later, Anant’s wedding celebrations featured an even more glamorous guest list, including Kim and Khloé Kardashian, Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra, and John Cena, with a performance by Justin Bieber.

Akash Ambani, 32

Mukesh and Nita’s first son, Akash, was born on October 23, 1991, alongside his twin sister Isha in Mumbai. After attending international school in Mumbai, Akash studied at Brown University in the U.S., graduating in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He joined Reliance the same year. Speaking at the IIT Bombay Techfest in December 2023, Akash shared how his father inspired his career choice.

My father is one of my biggest inspirations and heroes,” he said. “He always wanted me to be an engineer — full disclosure, I’m not an engineer. I’ve been obsessed with technology since my father got his first phone in late 2003. I always think that you make life out of inspirations, and I was lucky to have my inspirations right at my house in terms of my grandfather, my mother, and my father,” he added. As of 2022, Akash serves as the chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, where he leads the development of products and services leveraging new-age technologies like 5G, AI, Blockchain, and IoT to revolutionize commerce, education, and healthcare in India.

Isha Ambani, 32

Isha, the twin sister of Akash and Mukesh and Nita’s only daughter, was also born on October 23, 1991. She attended Yale University, graduating in 2013 with a degree in psychology and South Asian studies, and later earned her MBA from Stanford University in 2018. Isha joined the family business and now serves on the board of Reliance’s various branches. Though she once aspired to be a teacher, she always knew she would contribute to Reliance.

My parents raised me with very traditional values, and it was ingrained in me from an early age that family should always come first,” she told Vogue Australia in July 2017. “I’ve always believed that part of my personal responsibilities towards my family extends professionally as well.” Isha emphasized her role in showing other women the impact they could have in the workforce and attributed her confidence to her father.

Anant Ambani, 29

The youngest Ambani, Anant, was born on April 10, 1995. Like his older brother, Anant attended Brown University. He now serves as a director on various boards within Reliance, primarily focusing on green energy and public betterment. In March 2024, he spoke to India Today about his passions. Anant has faced health challenges, including asthma, which led to weight gain from steroid treatments. At his pre-wedding celebrations in March 2024, he thanked his parents for their unwavering support. “I have faced many health crises since childhood, but my father and mother have never let me feel it,” he said, according to Times of India. “My father and mother have always stood by me, and they have made me feel that if I think [I can do it], I’ll do it.” Anant and Radhika Merchant married in July 2024, but the celebrations began early with a grand party.
