Susan Sarandon's 3 Kids: Everything You Need to Know About Eva, John, and Miles

by Kristine Bowman

Susan Sarandon’s kids have followed in her footsteps, carving their own paths in the entertainment industry. The iconic Thelma & Louise star is the proud mother of three adult children: Eva Amurri, 40, whom she shares with ex Franco Amurri; and sons John “Jack” Henry, 35, and Miles Robbins, 32, from her relationship with ex Tim Robbins. All three have pursued careers in entertainment, with her eldest even starring alongside her in various projects. Over the years, Sarandon has gained valuable insights into parenting. As she once said, “No matter how involved your baby daddy or husband is, it’s up to you in the beginning—that’s just the way it’s designed.”

Sarandon is also a grandmother to Eva’s three children and has reflected on how different being a grandmother is from being a mother. “You realize the constant worry you have as a mom you don’t have as a grandma,” she said. “When something happens or she gets a cold, I’m just like, ‘Yeah, well, she’ll get over it.

Eva Amurri, 40

Sarandon’s daughter Eva was born on March 15, 1985, after her relationship with filmmaker Franco Amurri. Growing up in the spotlight, Eva has shared her experience, describing it as “like growing up in the circus.” She explained that the close-knit nature of film sets often made people feel like family, but the transient nature of the industry meant that once a project was done, people often went their separate ways. Despite the challenges, she has fond memories of the close families she met along the way.

John "Jack" Henry Robbins, 35

Sarandon’s second child, Jack, was born on May 15, 1989, to her and actor Tim Robbins. Although he works in the entertainment industry, Jack prefers behind-the-scenes work, focusing on directing, writing, and editing. Recently, he directed 80 episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and worked on short films like Serfs Up and VHYes, the latter of which he co-created with his father. Jack is known to keep his personal life private but often shares glimpses of his family on social media. In a heartfelt post on Mother’s Day 2021, Jack wrote a tribute to his mom, saying, “Happy Mother’s Day to Susan Abigail Tomalin…to the world she’s an icon, but to her kids, she’s just ‘mom.

Miles Robbins, 32

Miles, Sarandon and Tim’s second son, was born on May 4, 1992. Like his mother, Miles pursued acting, but he has also explored music, working as a disc jockey and producer under the name Househusband. He attended Brown University to study documentary filmmaking and music production but left before graduating. Miles has appeared in films such as Blockers, The X-Files, and My Friend Dahmer, and he has lent his voice to several video games. While initially hesitant about being overshadowed by his parents, he has embraced his identity and artistic journey. He is also part of the psychedelic pop group Pow Pow Family Band.

Susan Sarandon on Her Name

In a candid conversation, Sarandon explained why she kept her last name after her marriage to Chris Sarandon ended over 40 years ago. “He was a very kind man, and he kept me alive, so I’m happy to have that name,” Susan shared. Although she has never remarried, she’s remained proud of her last name. However, she humorously admitted that she sometimes regrets not changing her first name, saying, “Sigourney Weaver and others had the sense to change theirs, and I’m stuck with Susan.”

Through her children’s accomplishments, Sarandon continues to be an inspiration—not only in her career but in how she navigates family life.
